Considering accessory dwelling units to be a form of design intervention in California’s housing shortage, STAR VIEW ADU is a creative proposal for a shed-to-housing unit conversion. Based on a real site in Oakland.

The Star View ADU creates grandeur on a micro scale, utilizing a loft bed to maximize the 216 sq. footprint.The oblique ceiling not only adds an aesthetic flair, but also embues a sense of spaciousness. The large skylight opens up the space with a view toward the skies, making the dwelling both grand and cozy. This makes it an ideal residence for an individual or domestic partners who wish to maximize their living space while keeping a minimalist lifestyle.
